The Clover Fabric Tube Maker
What is it?
The Clover Fabric Tube maker is a lightweight sewing accessory made from smooth plastic resin. It enables the the user to create double-folded fabric tubes in a single, continuous step by combining 2.5-inch fabric strips with similarly sized batting strips, excellent for using up spare fabric
How does is work?
- Prepare your materials:
Cut or us pre-cut fabric strips and batting strips in the appropriate size.. We recommend cutting Fabric Strips 2.5 inches and batting 2.25 inches
Join your fabric strips end to end and press the seams flat. Do the same for the batting if you feel you need to as it can be fed unattached .
2. Load the tool:
Separate the tool into it's components.
Place the batting (on the wrong side) on the fabric strip and feed this layered strip into the first pair of tool parts, fold both edges inward, then simply snap on the second pair, creating a neatly folded tube
3. Sew the tube:
Start sewing to create the tube! As you sew, keep the tool's parts just ahead of the presser foot and slide them forward in small increments
4. Form your project:
Coil the tube into a spiral and stitch it in place using a wide zig-zag stitch. Begin with about a 9-inch straight section or fold for mats and continue sewing in a spiral, pivoting and easing the fabric as needed
Overlap the end of the tube onto itself to secure the finish, then press your piece flat.
This tool is great for those looking to save time and frustration, turning a traditionally fiddly and slow task into a much more enjoyable process.
